Mara Rúbia
Osmarina Lameira Colares Cintra (Belém, February 3, 1918 – Rio de Janeiro, May 15, 1991) was a Brazilian actress, dancer, and showgirl, better known by her stage name Mara Rúbia.
She established herself in revue theater during the 1940s and 1950s. By 1953, she was earning 46,000 cruzeiros per month as a contract worker for TV Tupi in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Four years later, she began hosting an exclusive program on the Rio de Janeiro station. At that time, she decided to abandon theater to dedicate herself to other artistic pursuits, but was forced to return at the request of admirers and managers.
Her career also included film work—Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands, Os Deuses e os Mortos —and television— soap operas such as Sinal de Alerta and Feijão Maravilha, on Rede Globo.
