Aleksandr Baranov
Aleksandr Nikolaevich Baranov (Kazakh: Александр Николаевич Баранов; born March 20, 1955; Alma-Ata) is a Soviet, Kazakh and Russian film director, screenwriter and producer.
In 1985 he graduated from the script Department of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography named after S. A. Gerasimov. In 1985, he acted as a screenwriter for the film "Who are you, Horseman?". For the newsreel, Yeralash created 3 plots. His first directorial work was "Three" (1988) in collaboration with Bakhyt Kilibayev. The film was awarded four grand Prix of the festivals "Debut", "Youth" and "Constellation" (for best acting and acting ensemble). One of the authors of the script of the film "Needle" (1988), in which the main role was played by Viktor Tsoi. He acted as a director, screenwriter and producer of the film "Shanghai" (1996), which received the prize of the Kiev festival "Golden Knight". He has been working in Timur Bekmambetov's team since 2011. One of the directors of the film "Christmas Trees 2" (2011). In 2012, in collaboration with Dmitry Kiselyov, he directed the film "Gentlemen, good luck!".
